I got to go up on Mauna Loa, the biggest volcano on the Hawaiian Island chain this week. I went up with Paul Rollman, who is with the Civil Air Patrol, to check up on a weather station that is located up there and where some communication equipment is located. The air is so clear up there that everything seems in sharper images.

The equipment looks so stark in this environment. We were at the 11,000 ft level so there is very little vegetation at this height.
