Brunch on our Anniversary

So we went to our favorite restaurant in Honolulu Chinatown on our 11th wedding anniversary. Legends, next to the canal. We took Scot and Kim with us and all enjoyed a good meal. Candy couldn't make it cause she had to work that day.

And also bought new wheels, or at least close to new wheels. A Honda Accord in great condition with only 54k miles on it. Got it for a very good price and having it shipped to us next week.

Hilo from the air

The flights are mostly full since everyone wants to fly over and see another shelf fall into the ocean.

Lava Shelf

ready to fall back into the ocean. Pieces that Madame Pele did not want us to keep. I kinda wonder, If you buy some real estate and then it falls back into the ocean, is it still real estate? Or has it become "surreal" estate?

Kilauea rumbling

Getting ready for another vent to open up, or perhaps even to shoot lava into the air. We are overdue for a big vent to open up. Good thing it's on the other side of the island.

Father's Day Brunch

Here we are having brunch on Father's day at the Hilton Hotel. Traci was with us and took this nice photo.

Our yacht was waiting below to take us back to the main lobby.

Nite on Mauna kea

It was a dark and clear nite up on Mauna Kea. Lots of stars to see. Unfortunately, the only shot that turned out was using the flash. It was below 50 up there.

City of Refuge

wn at the City of Refuge
Here we are on a lovely day down at the City of Refuge. The sun was out, the waters were clear and warm. Off to the left is the actual Plae of Refuge where Hawaiians went when they had committed something that was kapu. Now, it is a hitorical monument and favorite place for snorkelers and divers.

Dim sum and Chinatown

No trip to Honolulu is complete without our brunch at Legends and shopping in Chinatown.

Traci and Debbie

get to spend some time at Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach in the Summer

Footsteps in the sand as I get ready to get into the tranquil waters of Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu. Usually, this is where they hold the surfing competitions in the Winter when they get 30-50 ft waves. Fortunately for me, there was only the strong undertow to deal with that day as the red warning flags were out.

Nan comes to Kona

Here we are on the Saddle Rd heading towards Hilo. Stopping for a break to enjoy the flora. We got a lot accomplished that day.

Then, there was dinner Fri nite down at Bubba Gumps in Kailua-Kona. Table next to the water with this spectacular view.

Sound of waves crashing ashore and beautiful sunset.
