Swimming with the Honu

Long time no see folks. I have been travelling on the Mainland and things have been pretty busy and accelerated. Got back about a week ago and have spent some time in a small, private beach with some honu's (turtles) that live in this bay. We harvest the sea grass off the rocks and they eat right out of our hands. Very calming and relaxing to sit with the turtles and learn from them about "going with the flow" in the ocean. The waves come in and move all of us around and they get shoved away but come back with each ebbing wave.

Nothing cuter than when one of them comes up for air and blows a lungful of seaweed breath into your face. They are very alert and not afraid of humans as most other turtles are when you meet them in the ocean. These turtles have the humans trained pretty well and when we get in the water, they come up expecting their meal. I have even gotten pats on the back from their little arms when they are done eating.

Then, there are the occasional private moments like, "Why are the turtles leaving? Because I just peed in the water."
