Creating an intentional community
Well, it would seem to me that human being have been in the business of creating communities/villages thru out the history of the human race. Those groups were formed for mutual defense and survival. In modern times, people can set an intention on who they want to live around and the type of environment they want to create.
So my intentional community of old souls (from the Michael Teachings education system) would be a group of people who want to be surrounded by like minded people who are non-judgmental of each other (as much as we can be) and averse to meddling in other people’s business. I live in communities where some feel like it is their duty to go around and chronicle all the violations of their neighbors and report them to whatever authorities are around. A community of old souls would not want to spend their time looking for the faults in other people, but respect and appreciate each person’s contribution and value.
As in any community, conflict and disagreements would arise and I envision a community where conflicts are resolved with indiviuals taking responsibility for their issues and not trying to blame someone else. We have far too much of that in the world already. I feel that people are locked into living in modern cities, suburbs and sprawl because there are very few alternatives to that model. Most lists of the best places to live almost always consider the quality of life, safety for children and adults, and knowing others in the community. So I would envision such a community, maybe many such communities around the world where people form bonds of friendship and can even swap homes with their friends and live elsewhere to get a break and meet new people.
